Architecture Design

Every project begins with the site and the people who will use it. We work through orientation, light, circulation and structure until the plan is doing real work, then develop the elevations, materials and details that give the building its character. The drawings that leave the studio are made to be built from.

Concepts are tested in plan and section at the same time, so that spatial planning, structure and elevation move as one idea rather than three separate exercises.

Design Development

Drawn to the level the site needs.

Design development is where a scheme becomes buildable — dimensioned plans, sections through the tricky parts, elevations that resolve, and material studies that settle questions before they reach the site.
