A drawing that cannot be built from is not finished, however well it reads on screen.
The test of a detail is whether the person holding the drawing on site can build it in the sequence the site is actually working in. A junction that requires three trades to be present simultaneously is a detail that will be improvised.
That is an argument for staying involved through execution. Questions raised at the wall are answered fastest by the people who drew it, and answered against the design rather than around it.
It is also an argument for drawing less, but drawing the right things. The details that matter are the ones that repeat and the ones that are hard.
